Using TCode With External Timecode
Posted on June 17, 2010If you are using the Windows version of TCode or want to read timecode from a camera or other external device, this post should help you get started.
The following is a compilation of several support questions. If this doesn't help, feel free to contact us and we will be glad to help!
Question: Can I use the same computer to both be playing the video/LTC audio and running TCode?
Answer:Sure, simply take the audio output of your computer and split the audio (using a mini-trs to dual rca cable) and take the voice side (left, for example) and connect that to your speakers thru whatever cable necessary. Take the other side and use an rca to mini-trs cable and connect that to the audio input of your computer.
This will allow the audio to go to your speakers, and the timecode will go back into the computer and will be read by TCode.
All these adapter cables should be available at a local Radio Shack, or another audio specialty company.
